13 August 2009 - 10:58 p.m. dear diary, this week has flown by thanks to an off-site meeting my work team went on yesterday/today. after a full day meeting yesterday, we spent the night on the coast and had dinner in the little beach town where we're getting married next month. i've always loved this quaint little town and last night's visit confirmed it. i can't wait to get married there! i spoke to my dad this evening. he asked me how my job was going and i provided my standard response of "it's ok." he then asked me (again), "are you pregnant?" i'm not sure where he is getting this idea, but it's making me wonder if i am being that obvious. i told him "no" (i'm a liar). then he asked if i was going to quit my job after i got married. i wish i could. honestly, work does not agree with me, at least not the sort of work i always find myself doing. alas, we can't afford for me to quit. not with button on the way, and not with the money fiance has been making. his salary fluctuates monthly as he is basically on 100% commission and is determined largely on how good or bad the stock market does. for the most part he likes his job which is good, but sometimes i wish he'd take a job that paid the same, predictable amount every month. speaking of the fiance, he comes home from his business trip tomorrow night. i miss him, but have to admit that the pup and i are enjoying some "alone time" together, just like old times. it's already 11pm here, 1am where fiance is, and he hasn't called me tonight yet. this kind of pisses me off because i am sure he is out drinking and socializing and having fun....while his pregnant fiance sits at home waiting for his call... then again, i didn't call him til 3:30am (his time) this morning, which is the time i returned to my hotel room. maybe he's giving me some sweet revenge? whatever... i can't tell you how happy i am that tomorrow is friday, y'all. i need a weekend to catch my breath and get a whole lotta stuff figured out. next week is ultrasound #3. can't wait to see button again and make sure she is healthy. and hopefully confirm that button is indeed a "she". nite-nite, cali |
