15 June 2009 - 11:11 a.m. dear diary, a few of the results from the blood tests taken on friday are coming back. i love my HMO, in that i can log-in online to view results. the most interesting of the results is that i finally know my blood type! it's hard to believe that for 36 yeas i didn't know that i am O negative. apparently my blood type is the very desirable "universal donor" blood type, meaning it's compatible with any other blood type. so, someone with blood type a, for example, could take my blood. knowing this makes me feel like a jerk for not learning my blood type earlier. i would totally have been a blood donor. now that i know, i will become a regular blood donor. i guess the bad thing about my blood type is if i ever needed blood, i would need O negative, and i think it's kind of a rare, harder-to-get type. anyway, i just have to say that aside from this pregnancy being a surprise, it is also a cool little blessing in many ways. it is already teaching me things about myself i never even knew. cali |
