26 July 2009 - 12:39 p.m. dear diary, it's a... well, we don't know for sure. friday's ultrasound came up inconclusive because little button did not want to open his/her legs! i was a little disappointed by the ultrasound because the images were not as clear as the first ultrasound. even the doc seemed to have a hard time getting a good view of things, so much so that we have to go back in three weeks for another look. the doc assures me that he thinks everything is ok, but he just wants to get another look when button hopefully cooperates more. i don't mind going back and getting another chance to see little button, though taking a "long lunch" as a new employee at work will be a bit challenging. in terms of fiance's first "meeting" with button - he seemed to be in awe, unable to take his eyes of the monitor, asking the sonographer, and then the doctor, "what's that?" "is that normal?" all the typical first daddy questions, i suppose. both the sonographer and the doctor said that if they had to guess, they think button is a girl. we even have a picture from the ultrasound of what the doc pointed out might be her labia. lovely! she will really love that picture someday... after the ultrasound, we went to the mall to buy button an outfit. we ended up going a little overboard, buying her lots of cute onesies and outfits for next summer. (since the suspicion is that she's a girl, we went with girl clothes, but are saving the receipts just in case.) so, the next ultrasound is on august 17, which buys me more time in telling people i'm pregnant. i mean, why would i tell anyone until i know for sure that the baby is healthy? cali |
